Luc Faubert

Background

I obtained a degree in French Litterature and Russian from University of Montréal in 1982 and completed a graduate degree in Computer Science at Concordia University in 1985.

Always fascinated by the convergence of information technologies and communications, from 1985 to 2002 I founded, operated and sold companies in IT consulting, graphic design and pre-press, then in translation and software localization. During these years I acquired precious experience in international management. I have also been a speaker in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

I have also realized consulting mandates in :

  • implementing best practices frameworks (COBIT, ITL);
  • corporate governance;
  • process optimization;
  • auditing of corporate Information Technology services;
  • communications linked to large-scale system development;
  • master training classes;
  • corporate reorganization;
  • content management;
  • information flow in large corporations;
  • communication strategies;
  • human resource policy development.
  • software development;

I use three underlying principles in all my interventions:

  • a high-level strategic persppective;
  • constant attention to the human aspects of all dynamics;
  • the concern that my interventions be unquestionably profitable to my customer.

I am also active as a volunteer, both on the local scene, as President of the Internet Society Québec chapter and in international fora on Internet governance. I have attended WSIS (World Summit on Information Society) and IGF (Internet Governance Forum) events in Geneva, Tunis and Athens.
