Internet Society and Internet Society Québec

The Internet Society (ISOC) is a non-profit organization based in Reston, Virginia and in Geneva. ISOC's mission is to promote the open development, evolution, and use of the Internet for the benefit of all people throughout the world.

I am President of Québec's ISOC chapter : ISOC Québec.

I have also served as ISOC ambassador to the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS), a United Nations summit organized to bridge the digital divide and discuss Internet governance.


Canadian Council on Internet Governance (CCIG)

The CCIG is a centre of expertise and a forum for discussion on Canadian Internet governance policy.

I am founder and President of the CCIG.


Un Québec branché sur le monde

Un Québec branché sur le monde is a Québec non-profit dedicated to providing broadband Internet access to Quebecers of rural regions who do not have it yet.

I serve as Predident of Un Québec branché sur le monde.


Maillons network

The Maillons network brings together the non-profit associations involved in the Internet in Québec. ISOC Québec is a founding member of Maillons and as President of ISOC Québec I participate actively to Maillons projects.

I serve on the board of Maillons.


Communautique

Communautique is a non-profit organization dedicated to capacity building in order to bridge the digital divide in communities.

I serve on the board of Communautique.


Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility

CPSR is a global organization promoting the responsible use of computer technology. Founded in 1981, CPSR educates policymakers and the public on a wide range of issues.

I am a member of CPSR.



World Federalist Movement

The WFM promotes UN reform and the peaceful resolution of international issues with democratic institutions.

I am a member of WFM.

Extropy Institute is a networking ideas exchange devoted to developing strategies for the future. Extropy is a symbol for continued progress and reflects the extent of a living or organizational system’s intelligence, functional order, vitality, and capacity and drive for improvement. Extropy is an essential element of transhumanism. Without being fanatical about transhumanism, I appreciate the exercise in long-term thinking it invites to.
